Openness without standards does not stay open for long. It turns into receptivity without enough discrimination. A person can become so eager not to be rigid that he loses the ability to sort well.
Then too much readiness to accept begins looking like intelligence or humility. How do you stay open without giving up the right to reject what does not deserve entry?
