A lot of socially rewarded behavior is not health. It is controlled disconnection.

People get praised for being composed, agreeable, tireless, emotionally low-maintenance, or "mature," when what is being rewarded may actually be distance from feeling, dependence on performance, or caution around conflict. Social approval is a poor measure of integration.

Which behavior looks respectable until you see what it costs underneath?
