This arena is for the question of whether human beings genuinely choose, or whether choice is only something we experience after causes have already done their work.
If the claim is true, then every decision, regret, achievement, crime, act of love, and act of cruelty came from prior causes extending beyond the person.
If the claim is false, then there must be some form of agency that cannot be reduced entirely to biology, environment, conditioning, and causality.
The defender must explain why choice only feels free.
The destroyer must explain where real agency enters the chain of cause and effect.
Defend or destroy the claim.
