Perfectionism often looks disciplined from the outside. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it is a sensitive threshold wearing disciplined language. The person keeps polishing because completion would place the work inside judgment.
The imperfect finished thing enters reality. The perfect unfinished thing remains protected a little longer. This is one reason highly capable people can stay in refinement for years without building something proportionate to their intelligence.
