Every account starts with 0 Authority. From there, Authority grows through contribution.

- Each upvote you receive anywhere in the forum adds 1 Authority.
- Each "Changed My Mind" vote you receive anywhere in the forum adds 25 Authority.
- Each thread you open in the forum adds 10 Authority.
- At 100 Authority, you can reply in The Arena and your Arena votes begin to count.
- At 1000 Authority, you can open a new Arena topic.
- In The Arena, your vote carries your current Authority as its weight.

To maintain the quality of discussion and prevent spam, the following limits are in place:
- You can open a maximum of 3 threads within any 24-hour window.
- You can cast a maximum of 25 upvotes within any 24-hour window.
- You can cast a maximum of 1 "Changed My Mind" vote within any 24-hour window.
